01 — BENEFITS
What makes working with Vellum different.
Defined deliverables. Stated prices. Work sized for teams that cannot afford to have a consultant present for three months.
← Back to Home02 — OVERVIEW
Six reasons operations teams work with us.
Scope you can rely on
Each engagement has a published scope. We do not add to it mid-project and do not invoice for work outside the brief.
Prices on the page
S$120, S$390 and S$540. You know the cost before the first call. There are no variable fees tied to headcount or project value.
Fixed end dates
Sprints end in two weeks. Reviews have a stated delivery date. Coaching is month-to-month with no lock-in period.
Deliverables you can hand off
Every engagement ends with something your team owns — a map in standard notation, a written review or a call summary. No proprietary format.
Built around your team
We interview the people doing the work, not just the manager overseeing it. The resulting documentation reflects operational reality.
Appropriate confidentiality
Client process documentation is not referenced in other work. Engagement agreements include a confidentiality clause as standard.
03 — IN DETAIL
Professional expertise
The consultants who conduct Vellum engagements have worked in and around Singapore operations for over a decade. Process mapping, cycle time measurement and process owner support are not adjacent to our practice — they are the practice.
We use BPMN-compatible notation because it is the most widely understood standard in the market. The documentation produced is not dependent on our continued involvement to be useful.
Value and pricing
The three Vellum services are priced to fit within a single discretionary budget line. A Process Mapping Sprint at S$540, a Cycle Time Review at S$120 and Process Owner Coaching at S$390 per month do not require approval from a procurement committee in most organisations.
This is deliberate. The value of process documentation compounds over time as the business grows and people change roles. Starting that documentation should not require a large capital commitment.
Customer service and responsiveness
Because engagements are small and focused, we maintain high responsiveness throughout. Questions are answered within one business day. Interview scheduling is handled by us, not left for the client to coordinate.
Coaching clients receive written notes after every call so the substance of each session is captured and accessible regardless of what else is happening in the business that week.
Results and practical outcomes
A process map documents current state — which is valuable in itself for onboarding, audit and handover. A cycle time review names specific contributors to delay and presents options. Coaching builds a process owner's capacity to manage their process independently.
None of these outcomes require a follow-on engagement. That is a deliberate design choice.

05 — WHAT SETS US APART
Distinctive features of our practice.
Services that sequence naturally
A process map creates the foundation for a cycle time review. A cycle time review surfaces the decisions a process owner will need coaching to navigate. The three services are designed to be used together or independently.
Documentation of how work actually runs
Many process maps document policy rather than practice. Ours capture what participants actually do, including the workarounds and informal steps that do not appear in any manual.
Written notes as a default
Sprint findings are documented in writing. Coaching sessions produce written notes. Options from a cycle time review are written up, not presented verbally and then lost. This is deliberate and part of every engagement.
No follow-on dependency built in
We do not structure engagements to create a continuing need for our involvement. The deliverable is intended to stand alone. If you come back for a further engagement, it is because the scope warrants it.
